Senior Event Specialist - Remote

As a Senior Event Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our events program by partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to develop and execute strategic, goal‑oriented events. Your primary focus will be to manage and execute the global trade show program and oversee the production of company‑led events such as workshops, conferences, and roadshows. This hands‑on role requires a strong customer focus, proactive problem‑solving, and exceptional project‑management skills to ensure all events are impactful, well‑executed, and aligned with business objectives.

Salary: $65,018–$108,857; determined by qualifications and experience.

This position is remote, with up to 50% travel to support staff at conferences and events. Travel schedule may include periods of up to 5–6 weeks in a row during peak season.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with internal stakeholders (product managers, sales, marketing, leadership) to define event objectives, target audiences, and metrics for success, ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals. Take initiative in identifying opportunities to enhance customer experiences and improve brand visibility at events, leveraging creativity and innovation to stand out in competitive environments.

Manage all aspects of the global event program, including event selection, booth design, logistics, vendor management, and post‑event analysis.

Lead cross‑functional event teams to ensure timely execution, effective resource management, and clear communication across all levels of the organization. Conduct post‑event debriefs and generate reports that measure success, gather insights, and recommend strategies for future improvements.

Manage the trade show and event budgets, ensuring cost‑effective event execution while maintaining high standards of quality and impact. This includes overseeing expense tracking, negotiating with vendors, and ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.

During the event, ensure effective lead capture, coaching for the event team on proper data entry for leads, booth etiquette and the goals for each show and supervise event follow‑up.

Qualifications & Skills

BA degree in Communication, Marketing, Business or Science required; 2 years of experience with direct oversight of campaigns and event management. Field sales experience preferred.

5+ years of experience developing exhibit schedules, market analysis for events and campaigns, and budget development.

Strong experience planning events for large conferences, preferable within a life sciences company.

Demonstrated exceptional organizational, time and budget management skills.

Global event planning experience is a plus.

Knowledge of event service providers and expertise in vendor negotiations/contracting procedures.

Proven complex project‑management skills. Ability to generate, understand, and use analytics to identify trends and make strategic recommendations based on data.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and computer skills.

Detail‑oriented, results‑driven ability to independently oversee multiple projects simultaneously and manage budgets.

Exceptional computer skills including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Familiarity with CRM (especially Salesforce) and marketing automation (Marketo) is preferred.

Must be available to travel up to 50% of the time and support event staff as required; travel schedule may include periods of up to 5–6 weeks in a row during peak season.

Interpersonal relationship skills sufficient to effectively deal with a wide variety of internal and external customers and personalities at many levels of importance and sophistication.

The ability to work in a demanding, fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
