Role Details The Strategic Lending Group (“SLG”) is responsible for the management and origination of a significant corporate loan portfolio and leads the investment committee process for corporate loan requests across Investment Banking and Global Capital Markets. SLG operates at the intersection of deal execution, risk, and strategy. The analyst/associate will support evaluation, structuring, approval, and ongoing management of corporate lending transactions and contribute to portfolio‑strategy initiatives.

Exposure to a wide range of financings, including M&A, leveraged buyout commitments and working‑capital/liquidity facilities.

Close partnership with stakeholders across IBD, GCM, Sales & Trading and Credit Risk Management.

Assist in deal origination/structuring: calculating returns, evaluating credit quality, assessing value proposition, optimizing financing structure and terms, and evaluating portfolio strategy and future revenue opportunities.

Review and approve corporate and sponsor financings, including M&A and LBO commitments (event loans) and working‑capital/liquidity facilities (relationship loans).

Provide senior management with regular reporting and analysis of the portfolio.

Execute ad‑hoc projects such as large‑scale data analysis, monitoring market and industry trends, and aligning with the firm’s evolving strategic priorities and portfolio objectives.

Deal Coverage Responsibilities

Review lending requests, provide feedback to deal teams and present to the investment committee.

Interact with senior IBD and GCM management on significant commitment requests.

Coordinate with the Fixed Income team on hedge strategy, loan P&L and secondary sales.

Work with deal teams to review and execute transactions, including negotiation of documentation for working‑capital/liquidity facilities.

Coordinate on challenged loans, driving decisions on amendments, secondary sales and restructurings.

Collaborate with Credit Risk Management, Operations, Legal and Treasury for transaction execution.

Skills Required

0–3 years of experience in the financial sector; experience in Global Capital Markets, Investment Banking, and/or Corporate Finance encouraged.

High motivation, commitment to hard work, focus on work quality and attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong client and interpersonal skills.

Commercial instinct and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

Bachelor’s degree required; regulatory licensing required or will be obtained.

Compensation Expected base pay rates for the role: $110,000 – $125,000 for Analysts and $150,000 – $225,000 for Associates at commencement. Compensation may include commission, incentive, discretionary bonuses and other company‑sponsored benefits.
