New Business Market Development Manager - SC & NC

Overview The New Business Market Development Manager (MDM) for SC & NC manages the business development process in their respective region. The goal is to efficiently and systematically increase Ace’s market share via our new store growth strategy.

Responsibilities

Recruit, educate, and motivate potential candidates, including sales, development of a business plan, and consulting with existing Ace retailers, new investors, and conversion or acquisition candidates. Determine when to say yes and when to say no; frontline accountability for prospect business acumen, character, competence, and financial wherewithal, and finalizing and/or closing the opportunity.

Execute the technical operating procedures from Interest-to-Application, including demographic work, trade potential, sales forecasting, site audit, expansion area notification, creating the proforma, securing approvals, executing the LOI, assisting with financing, and completing the Ace membership application following Standard Operating Procedures.

Develop the market by pursuing opportunities related to potential candidates, open markets, real estate site possibilities, lender and broker relationships, and public relations; lead momentum through market diligence and Ace advocacy with stakeholders.

What You Need To Succeed

Minimum of 5 years of experience in retailing, franchising, real estate, or market development.

College degree in business preferred but not required.

Ability to develop, secure, and close a new store and/or conversion opportunity.

Strong negotiation skills.

Strong presentation skills to diverse audiences including wealthy investors, real estate brokers, lenders, and existing Ace retailers.

Interpersonal ability to create trust, respect, and understanding.

Business acumen – understand the economics of business and retailing (ability to interpret business financials).

Understanding of the lease negotiation process.

Strong understanding of capitalization and financing opportunities, methods, and processes.

Understanding of the balance between store density and cannibalization and implications for the Ace brand.

Franchise intelligence – understanding of Ace’s franchise competitors and how to position Ace against them.

Ability to build strong coalitions with Retail Operations, including the Director, Regional Manager, Project Manager, and District Manager.

Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Willingness to work flexible hours and travel overnight (3-4 days/week).

Compensation Details $100000 - $128600 Per Year
