
Revenue Integrity Specialist

As the Revenue Integrity Specialist, you will support patient care by driving accuracy and adherence to coding guidelines, governmental and private Third-Party rules, and regulations for Novant emergency departments, to help deliver the most remarkable patient experience, in every dimension, every time. Work Location
Onsite at Forsyth Medical Center during the duration of onboarding for department training (approximately 3 months). Onsite at Forsyth Medical Center one day every three weeks after onboarding/initial department training. Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, flexible hours after initial onboarding/department training. Work every eighth Saturday. Work every holiday except Christmas. What You Will Do
Reviews patient medical records to assess for appropriate charge entry for Emergency Department visits. Review and enter charges onto accounts in the charge work queues assigned, by applying coding principles for correct coding including Infusion/Injection Hierarchy, other CPT guidelines, and E/M rules. Query Physicians and other providers for missing or unclear documentation to support the charge process. Ensure E/M charge parameters are entered directly, and separately billable procedures are identified and charged accordingly. Required
CPC(A), RHIT or RHIA licensure within 18 months of hire. High School Diploma or GED. 2+ years of healthcare experience or zero years of experience with RHIA, RHIT, or CPC(A) licensure. Excellent Customer service skills. Outstanding written and verbal communications skills. Working knowledge of current Procedure Technology (CPT coding). Ability to effectively communicate and work with physicians, staff, and team members. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Self-audit of work and awareness of impact on revenue cycle essential. Ability to adapt to frequent changes - in work assignment, environment, and/or regulations. Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed. Preferred
ED coding experience. Clinical experience and/or hospital-based billing experience. 2+ years of customer service experience in a clinic setting. What’s In It For You
