ROLE OVERVIEW As a Commercial Insurance Placement Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in marketing to insurance carriers and assisting Risk Advisors in obtaining quotes and writing new business. This position requires independence, effective negotiation skills, and excellent time management to meet deadlines while ensuring client satisfaction. You will be primarily responsible for the marketing and placement of new commercial business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Efficiently write new business with precision and promptness.
Collaborate with Risk Advisors to determine necessary markets and coverages.
Receive and assess marketing applications for commercial lines accounts.
Ensure accuracy by validating and updating information within received applications.
Analyze and review quotes and coverage from carriers for precision.
Create and distribute marketing proposals to sales teams, binding coverage as required.
Manage the marketing process proactively to meet deadlines and ensure satisfaction.
Utilize independent judgment and discretion to fulfill client needs.
Facilitate smooth transitions of new business accounts to the Account Manager, ensuring clear communication and updates in internal systems.
Record all relevant activities using company software per established procedures.
Support sales and service staff throughout the marketing process with expertise.
Promote value-added services available through North Risk Partners.
Build and maintain positive, strong relationships with carriers and company contacts.
Engage in agency service training meetings actively.
Monitor trends in the insurance industry and regulatory changes.
Adhere to all federal and state regulations to avoid errors and omissions.
Mentor new marketing team members in effective marketing methods.
Advance your professional development by pursuing and maintaining relevant designations.
QUALIFICATIONS Requires a blend of education and experience typically obtained through a high school diploma, a bachelor’s degree, and a minimum of 5 years in commercial insurance. Prior experience in insurance marketing or customer service is essential. An active property & casualty license is also required. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate strong attention to detail and initiative.
BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION The estimated salary range for this full-time position is $75,000 - $98,000 annually, alongside a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and retirement options.
