Associate Director - Global Study Start Up Transformation Lead

Job Description The Associate Director, Global Study Start Up Transformation Lead, is responsible for supporting the Director in overseeing and managing the transformation of Global Study Start Up business processes, increasing process/workflow efficiency and quality through use of AI/automation. This role requires strong project management and communication skills to ensure a smooth and successful transformation. The Associate Director will assist in developing training plans, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and documentation.

Responsibilities

Transformation Planning & Execution: Assist in developing and executing a comprehensive training plan, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables, to ensure a seamless transformation of SSU processes. Drive a learning environment and continuous improvement using Key Risk and Performance Indicators.

Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements and maintain open communication.

Vendor Selection: Participate in vendor selection, evaluate capabilities and support procurement and legal teams in contract negotiations.

Project Coordination: Support the Director in managing the transformation project, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Process Documentation: Document existing SSU processes, workflows, and SOPs; recommend improvements to enhance efficiency.

Change and Risk Management: Develop and implement change management and risk strategies; provide training for SSU operational roles.

Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure performance of SSU offshoring hubs.

Automation Development: Increase efficiency by using AI/automation; propose and coordinate new and existing automation projects.

Relationship Management: Foster cross‑functional communication and support the Director in collaborating with offshoring hubs and internal teams.

Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to optimize the SSU process and operational efficiency.

Team Leadership: Assist in leading a team responsible for SOPs and documents related to the SSU transition.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare or scientific field.

Minimum of 7 years of clinical project management and global study start‑up experience.

Minimum of 4 years of line management experience, including talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, coaching, and mentoring.

Proven leadership skills in a cross‑functional global team environment and ability to influence stakeholders.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Successful program execution experience, preferably in start‑up.

Expertise in drug development, operations, and resource/budget planning across global geographies.

Vendor management experience, including selection and performance oversight.

Advanced working knowledge of ICH and GCP guidelines and regulatory environment.

Preferred Demonstrated success in developing and retaining high‑potential/high‑performing staff.
