Job Summary The Principal Creative Content Strategist drives the university's storytelling efforts by crafting compelling, brand-aligned content strategies that resonate with key audiences and elevate institutional visibility. Reporting to the AVP of Brand and Content Strategy, this position plays a pivotal role in shaping the voice of the university across digital, print, and experiential platforms. This role combines strategic planning with creative execution – developing content frameworks, messaging hierarchies, and editorial guidelines that support marketing priorities, student recruitment, advancement, executive communications, and overall brand positioning. The Principal Creative Content Strategist is a collaborative partner to design, social, web, and video teams, ensuring that content not only informs but inspires and engages.

Develops and executes integrated content strategies that align with university goals and brand positioning.

Leads ideation of creative campaigns and content series that reflect institutional values and audience interests.

Oversees content calendars and workflows across digital platforms (web, social, media, email, print).

Serves as the primary guardian of brand voice and editorial tone, ensuring consistency across all materials.

Collaborates with internal teams and campus partners to shape narratives that support recruitment, advancement and reputation goals.

Tailors messaging and content formats for key audiences, including prospective students, alumni, donors, and the public.

Analyzes content performance to inform ongoing strategy and improvements.

Stays informed on content and marketing trends in higher education and beyond.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and eight (8) years of experience working in digital design/publication agency environments as content strategist, copywriter, or an editorial related field.

Other Information

Ability to work flexible hours as needed.

Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends and at locations outside of the University.

Travel to FIU Campus.

Work Schedule Begin time: 8:30 AM End time: 5:00 PM

Advertised Salary $80,000 - $90,000
