Job Summary The Global RFP Team is responsible for responding to detailed Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Information (RFI), ESG and Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQ) for Institutional and Wealth investors across the asset management industry. The RFP writer is responsible for sourcing, creating, and maintaining responses to firm level and product-specific questions and ensuring the accuracy and consistency of company-level language in all external documents. This involves working with Client Service, Distribution, Client Portfolio Management and other functional business areas (Operations, Compliance, Risk, Legal, Sustainability), across our global locations.
Primary Responsibilities
Deliver high‑quality RFPs, RFIs, DDQs and ESG questionnaires to agreed deadlines for institutional and wealth investors globally, covering Real Estate, Private Debt, and Private Equity.
Follow all formal RFP production, back‑up and review processes to ensure consistent quality and control.
Coordinate inputs from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across business development, client portfolio management, investments, client service, operations, legal and compliance, ensuring internal deadlines are met.
Support asset raising and retention by developing, maintaining and distributing clear, accurate and persuasive firm‑ and product‑level information for use in proposals.
Produce accurate, high‑quality responses that clearly articulate Barings’ investment approach and highlight the firm’s and products’ competitive strengths.
Stay informed of changes across the firm, products and industry, ensuring updates are reflected promptly in all requests and in the RFP database, and communicated across the RFP team.
Contribute to the ongoing enhancement and maintenance of the RFP database, including drafting new, high‑quality content as required.
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to enhance the RFP team’s profile and deepen product and market knowledge.
Develop the RFP team’s profile with the investment, client portfolio management, and distribution teams; build relationships and develop strong knowledge of products and marketing and sales initiatives.
Participate proactively in team‑level projects and broader business initiatives.
Qualifications
2-6 years in RFP or related experience in the asset management, financial services, or capital markets industry. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Familiarity with real estate investment strategies and key industry concepts, with the ability to interpret and communicate real estate product information accurately in RFP responses.
Demonstrated project‑management capability, including deadline and stakeholder management, editorial oversight and ownership of the full proposal‑writing process.
Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple complex projects in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent writing, editing and proofreading ability.
Highly organized, proactive and able to prioritize effectively.
Collaborative mindset, with experience working with global teams on business improvement initiatives, team projects and RFP database management.
Experience with proposal‑management software (e.g., Loopio, Qvidian, Responsive) is beneficial.
