Job Overview The VP, Social Media leads a high‑performing team of social and digital strategists, ensuring optimal performance, efficient budget management, and the continuous growth of team members’ skills. The role shapes day‑to‑day social media strategies, integrates paid strategies into the broader digital ecosystem, and champions emerging platforms and technologies.
Responsibilities
Serve as social + digital leader embedded within collaborative teams for multiple US and global brands.
Lead a team of high‑performing social strategists to maximize performance, manage budgets efficiently, mentor team members, and support ongoing skill development.
Act as a voice across the company to develop and deliver department‑wide trainings that regularly update teams on platform best practices, paid innovation, influencer trends, and AI‑enabled workflow enhancements.
Oversee strategic and creative execution, ensuring expertise in paid social integration, platform‑native storytelling, influencer activation, and alignment with the broader digital ecosystem.
Lead day‑to‑day social media strategy for a variety of account teams, including content oversight, social‑first production planning, influencer integration, project management, and portfolio leadership.
Design and manage AI agents within social workflows to improve efficiency in content development, community management, listening, reporting, and performance optimization while maintaining responsible human oversight.
Develop and communicate POV documents regarding platform changes, emerging technologies, and innovation opportunities across the social landscape.
Identify, cultivate, and manage high‑level relationships with industry experts, platform representatives, influencer partners, and technology vendors.
Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.

Qualifications
15+ years of experience creating and leading impactful, comprehensive social and digital campaigns that integrate paid, owned, influencer, and content strategies.
Strong agency and pharmaceutical marketing experience required.
Deep expertise in paid and organic social media strategy across platforms including Google, Meta, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, Snapchat, Reddit, TikTok, SERMO, Figure1, and other emerging channels.
Strong strategic thinker with the ability to develop programs that are unique, relevant, creative, measurable, and commercially impactful.
Experience integrating AI tools into marketing workflows, including the design and management of AI agents that enhance social execution and performance.
Ensure intelligent automation strengthens—not replaces—human insight, creativity, and regulatory accountability.
Ability to connect social strategies and tactics to ROI by partnering with analytics and strategy teams to develop performance models, incrementality testing, and marketing mix analysis.
Experience managing and sustaining profitable accounts, including development of meaningful metrics, scorecards, budget oversight, team structures, and client reporting models.
Comprehensive understanding of social team LOE across strategy development, paid execution, reporting, monitoring and moderation (M&M), listening, IRM, influencer compliance, and production.
Strong track record of leading new business efforts and winning pitches.
Ability to grow client relationships organically through consistently excellent work and forward‑looking innovation.
Proven ability to partner with account, strategy, creative, media, and analytics teams to ensure social remains an indispensable and revenue‑driving part of the business.
Demonstrated ability to manage staff effectively to deliver projects on time, within budget, and with high‑quality results.
