Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: The Writer/Editor produces content to support the Firm’s written materials, including publications, website, ads, invitations, and press releases. The Writer/Editor creates and disseminates informative and engaging content, often collaborating with lawyer‑authors to revise articles in a clear and concise journalistic fashion while ensuring that all material is consistent with the Firm’s brand, voice, and style. The Writer/Editor is expected to write, copyedit, proofread, lay out, and post digital and online materials, including the Firm’s weekly internal e‑newsletter with skill, efficiency, accuracy, and meticulous attention to detail; editing carefully for content and effectiveness; and ensuring consistency of messaging. The Writer/Editor must possess superior writing and digital skills as well as the ability to move seamlessly among email and website communications channels to reach the Firm’s external and internal audiences, including potential and current clients, lawyers, and staff.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree, advanced degree (MBA, MA, MS, JD) preferred.

Minimum four (4) years of marketing communications, journalism, and/or freelance writing/blogging experience.

Minimum four (4) years of experience in a business and/or professional services environment a plus; law firm experience preferred.

Experience laying out digital publications and updating websites.

Excellent proofreading skills.

Jones Day offers competitive salaries and benefits to all employees. Compensation is determined upon the market in which the position is located, the responsibilities of the position, the experience and skills of the applicant, and other job-related factors. The starting salary range for this Cleveland position is $90,000 to $105,000.
