Global Social Performance Lead (12m FTC to Perm)

In a nutshell…

Our client is expanding its global social and digital capability practice and is looking to appoint a Global Social Media Category Lead based in New York, to help shape and govern social media strategy across a portfolio of national or international consumer brands. You will own the social media agenda performance and optimisation for a defined category of client brands (Alc‑Bev, FMCG or consumer lifestyle portfolio). You will implement and continually improve the social media operating model across the brand ecosystem, driving consistency, performance and adherence to agreed marketing standards. You will collaborate closely with global brand teams, regional hubs, local markets and agency partners to optimise and scale best‑in‑class owned social work, ensuring investment is effective and risks are managed. You will set category‑level social strategy, define platform roles and enable purposeful diversification across existing and emerging social platforms. Define and implement operational standards and social media best practices across your allocated category globally, ensuring a coherent, scalable approach. Ensure all branded digital and social assets are compliant, aligned with governance playbooks and adhere to responsible marketing standards. Set and govern clear brand and platform guardrails so that social activation is consistent, on‑strategy and locally relevant. Ensure operational efficiency, performance improvement in the operating model, and drive performance improvement - working with both client and internal teams. Work with markets and agency partners to increase adoption of social media tools, data and workflows, ensuring content is social‑first and use data to inform. Foster a community of practice across markets to share learnings, case studies and playbooks, raising the overall social media capability and driving scale efficiencies. Optimise brand visibility and discoverability on social platforms, and AI‑driven shopper journeys Establish and manage robust measurement frameworks, reporting on social performance and driving continuous optimisation. About You

Proven extensive experience in social media and marketing, ideally within consumer‑facing sectors such as Alc‑Bev, FMCG, retail, lifestyle or similar. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders concurrently while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Strong knowledge of the digital marketing media ecosystem, including potential of AI‑driven customer journeys. Proven ability to engage credibly across multiple platforms, markets and stakeholder groups. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics and influence both marketeers and senior non‑specialists. Strong influencer with a track record of leading cross‑functional teams and working effectively in a matrixed, international environment. Energetic, results‑driven and a collaborative team player, comfortable working in a fast‑paced consultancy and client facing environment. Strong performance and analytics mindset, with a record of using data and insight to inform strategy, optimise investment and demonstrate impact. About Our Client
