Job Description ABC7 Los Angeles is seeking a dynamic and motivated traffic anchor/reporter to join our morning team. The role involves anchoring, reporting, and presenting traffic information using available technology and resources to elevate storytelling. The candidate will gather and monitor traffic data, report on transportation issues, and cover breaking news and entertainment stories as needed.
Responsibilities
Gather and monitor traffic data utilizing station technology to present impactful and informative traffic reports
Create unique and shareable traffic and transportation stories that impact Southern California communities
Collaborate on content and new ideas, manage live breaking news across platforms
Use social media for promotion and news gathering
Participate in community and station public events
Basic Qualifications
Multiple market experience
Solid knowledge of the Los Angeles area
Strong journalist and storyteller
Ability to present active and engaging live shots
Comfortable handling live breaking news in field and studio
Works well under deadline pressure
Schedule flexibility and ability to work holidays
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Adobe Premiere and/or Dalet One-Cut
Previous local news anchoring or fill-in anchoring experience
Previous experience covering entertainment stories
Ability to shoot, edit and publish
Bilingual preferred
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree
