Peer Recovery Specialist – New River Valley Recovery Court
The New River Valley Recovery Court is seeking a full-time Peer Recovery Specialist who will provide non‑clinical, person‑centered, wellness‑focused support to participants of the Recovery Court Program, who have been diagnosed with a substance use disorder and are involved with the criminal justice system. The Peer Recovery Specialist will share firsthand lived experiences with recovery to inspire hope, increase engagement in treatment and in communities, and support participants in articulating personal goals for wellness, recovery resiliency, and self‑advocacy. The role is part of the Recovery Court Team and includes providing individual and group peer support services. Compensation
Starting hourly rate: $17.08 per hour, depending on experience. Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent. Must have a mental health or substance use disorder that has impacted your life for two years or more and must identify a year in recovery. Certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist. Additional Compensation
Additional compensation will be considered for new employees who speak multiple languages.
