Art Director

SEEN Group, New York, NY, United States

Role Overview This role is for an Experiential Creative who wants to be embedded in that world. Someone who finds beauty, culture, and aesthetics genuinely compelling and wants to do their best work in a specialist agency where that is all we do.

This is not a purely executional role. You will generate original ideas, set creative directions, and present them to clients with confidence. You will also get hands‑on with the work, in the details, and sometimes on‑site. That balance is the job.

You will work closely with 2D and 3D designers, briefing them, developing concepts alongside them, and holding the creative vision across the project. The ability to direct and elevate specialist designers matters more here than personal technical output.

The agency exists for beauty. The Brand Experience team exists for this kind of work. This is the right place for someone who wants to do the most interesting work of their career in this category specifically.

What the Role Requires

Six or more years of conceptual creative experience with a significant focus on brand experiences and events. Agency background is essential.

A genuine interest in beauty, culture, and aesthetics. You do not need a CV full of beauty clients but the category should be something you find compelling, not somewhere you have ended up.

Strong conceptual ability. You can generate an original idea, build it into a coherent experience framework, and communicate it clearly through visuals, narrative, and spoken presentation.

Experience directing and overseeing 2D and 3D designers. You understand what good looks like across both disciplines and you can give feedback that moves the work forward rather than muddying it.

Confident presentation skills. You can build a deck and present it to a team, to a client, and in a pitch situation.

An awareness of what things cost and how to concept within production reality.

Comfort designing for content creation and social capture. You understand what makes a moment shareable without making it feel engineered, and you factor that in from the start.

Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is a plus. Being able to open a file, shift copy, or move an element around helps in a fast‑moving environment. Deep technical proficiency is not required.

On‑site art direction experience including set dressing, prop curation, tablescaping, and installation direction is an advantage.
