A fast‑growing, mission‑driven organization is seeking a Senior Content Marketing Manager to maintain continuity of consumer education, editorial direction, and content operations during a leadership parental leave. This is a temporary consulting engagement for a seasoned editorial professional who can step into an established strategy, move quickly, and operate with minimal ramp‑up.

This role is ideal for someone with strong editorial judgment and experience in science‑based or technical industries who can translate complex topics into clear, consumer‑friendly content across multiple formats. You’ll thrive in a high‑paced startup environment and collaborate closely with Brand, SEO, and cross‑functional partners.

Responsibilities

Partner with Brand leadership to oversee and manage the content calendar across the full content ecosystem, including website content, blogs, evergreen education, research, reports, and multimedia

Maintain and update the content calendar to reflect current priorities, timelines, and dependencies

Coordinate with staff writers and freelance contributors to balance workload and maintain content velocity

Content Development & Editorial Operations

Own and contribute to core content across technical verticals such as energy, EV, HVAC, climate, or electrification

Edit and peer‑review high‑impact content to ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency, and strong editorial standards

Translate complex technical or scientific material into accessible, consumer‑friendly multimedia articles

Upload, manage, and update content within the CMS, including edits to existing landing pages

Support peer reviews and editorial quality control with strong attention to detail

SEO & Performance Analysis

Partner closely with the SEO team to support organic growth initiatives and ensure content aligns with keyword and performance strategies

Apply strong analytical skills to evaluate content performance and support articles with credible, AI‑citation‑friendly data and statistics

Participate in monthly content performance reviews and help shape forward‑looking content plans

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Represent Content in cross‑functional planning meetings and reviews

Collaborate effectively with Brand, Video, SEO, and other partners to ensure alignment and timely execution

Required Qualifications

7–10+ years of experience contributing to or leading editorial and content marketing programs

Strong editorial background with exceptional writing, editing, research, and attention to detail

Industry experience in solar, energy, HVAC, climate, EV, electrical, environmental science, or similarly technical fields

Proven ability to simplify complex or technical topics for consumer audiences

Experience contributing directly to content creation while also supporting peer edits and reviews

Hands‑on experience with CMS platforms; comfortable learning and navigating new tools

Strong organizational skills with the ability to operate quickly in a startup, high‑growth environment

Ability to step into an existing strategy and operate independently with minimal oversight

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with headless or modern CMS platforms (Storyblok experience a plus)

Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Asana or similar)

AI‑savvy with experience leveraging AI tools to scale content while maintaining quality and editorial integrity

Prior consulting or freelance experience

Comfort acting as a temporary owner and decision‑maker during leadership coverage.

Must Have Skills

7–10+ yrs in content marketing/editorial (strategy + execution)

Experience in technical domains (energy, climate, EV, HVAC, etc.)

Experience managing content calendars, contributors, and publishing workflows

Hands‑on Experience with CMS platforms (uploading, editing, maintaining pages)

SEO-driven mindset with performance analysis experience

Ability to simplify complex topics for consumer audiences
