General Role Description
Fire Protection Designer is responsible for designing in a team environment to deliver the best possible service to our clients. The individual will design system layouts per NFPA 13 and the direction of the Fire Protection Project Manager, as well as maintain steady communication with our clients to ensure we provide the best quality design possible. They will also be responsible for creating stock listings of piping and fittings to be sent to our customer for fabrication. The individual will also be responsible for attending BIM Coordination meetings when required, and applying changes requested in meeting after review with Fire Protection Project Manager/Client.
This position reports to the Fire Protection Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Profound sense of responsibility for the overall success of the firm
Understand and design to the standard laid out in NFPA 13, 13R, and 13D
Coordinate with other trades to create a reasonable and efficient layout
Generate shop drawings to the standard of NFPA and our customer
Generate stock listing of materials and fabrication drawings
Maintain regular communication with customer/Project Manager on project direction
Requirements
3+ years experience in field as a Fire Sprinkler Fitter
