US - Envelope Existing Buildings Job Description
We are looking for a Structural Designer with 3+ years of experience in existing building design/field work. The work will include field investigations, structural analysis and design, client interactions, and collaboration with other design and construction professionals. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging projects involving steel, concrete, timber, and masonry, including historical restoration and renovation of existing buildings. Responsibilities
Completes feasibility studies by studying project plans, conducting site investigations, identifying and establishing performance standards; preparing construction documents and submittals. Verifies and supports construction by performing compliance inspections and tests; resolving construction problems related to structural design; coordinating and conferring with construction and production contractors. Documents structural design and maintenance by recording design features and maintenance requirements, and warnings; detailing safety requirements. Develop comprehensive plans, details and specifications. Construction administration, including field/site visits and ability to solve problems that may arise during construction. Work in conjunction with senior staff to assist with unique structural-related issues. Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager. Qualifications
Minimum BS in Civil/Structural Engineering. Experienced in the design and renovation of existing structures is preferred. Experienced with AutoCAD or Revit and computer-aided analysis/design of structures is required. Strong oral and written communication skills required. Additional Information
