1D CAE Engineer - Vehicle Dynamics

Summary This role will be supporting a large‑scale Automotive OEM by developing detailed 1D CAE models for vehicle dynamics and chassis systems' (Suspension, Steering, Brake, Control systems) requirements and specification evaluation for ride comfort, handling, steering, and brake performance.

Responsibilities

Develop detailed 1D CAE models for specification and requirements verification in the area of vehicle dynamics related to vehicle handling, ride comfort, NVH, steering, and brake performance.

Develop and evaluate metrics for the quality of modeling and analysis.

Assist in setting the plan for the technical direction of CAE methods development.

Collaborate with test and design teams to ensure CAE models achieve accuracy targets.

Create detailed technical summary reports and documentation.

Utilize Excel to create and update project schedules.

Travel to client site required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5+ years of Automotive experience in developing detailed 1D CAE models for specification and requirements verification in the area of vehicle dynamics related to vehicle handling, ride comfort, NVH, steering, and brake performance.

Education with the following specialties preferred: Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing.

Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics and chassis systems.

5+ years of experience utilizing CAE tools Simpack and Carsim for developing models and analysis for vehicle dynamics.

Experience utilizing other CAE tools such as Carmaker, Amesim, Matlab/Simulink/Simscape is desirable.

Experience with programming language such as Python, and VBA is desirable.

Strong communication skills and detail oriented mindset.
