Senior Technical Designer

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Designer to lead tech development and own fit across all product categories. The Sr. Technical Designer will serve as the authority on fit, partnering closely with Design, Product Development, and Production. This is a critical leadership role responsible for upholding the highest standards of craftsmanship, precision, and brand integrity from concept through production. This role will be in-office 5 days a week.
Job Responsibilities
Own end-to-end tech development from initial concept through bulk production
Lead all fittings and offer suggestions to Design teams, PD, and Sales as needed
Maintain established fit standards aligned with the brand’s luxury positioning, update as needed
Translate design intent into precise technical execution without compromising aesthetic
Schedule and conduct all fittings on live models
Spec all garments prior to fitting
Fit and comment on all products from proto, SMS, 1stfit, PPS to TOP stage with clear and accurate direction to factories
Review and approve grading, specs, and construction details across all categories
Create and update all tech packs, ensuring accuracy and consistency
Draw construction sketches for factories as needed
Adhere to the calendar deadlines with the ability to prioritize workload
Communicate daily with overseas factories to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly
Monitor and track status of development and production samples, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met
Manage alterations during show time with PD coordinator & local factories
Maintain and evolve block libraries and fit standards across seasons
Drive continuous improvement in fit, construction, and technical process
Determine size scale for each style
Qualifications
10+ years of technical design experience with experience in higher end or luxury markets and 3+ years of leading the tech team
Degree in Technical design or similar degree
Patternmaking knowledge and pattern correction knowledge
Grading understanding a must
Deep understanding of all product categories. Wovens + Knitwear (tops, dresses, pants, jackets, skirts, leather…etc)
Luxury construction expert
Skilled fit technician
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
