
Marketing Representative (Crude & NGLs)

Position Summary & Responsibilities
Job Summary: Responsible for the management and short- and longer-term sale of oil, NGLs, and other residue products for specific asset areas through market research, contract negotiation, and coordination of all product marketing activity with internal stakeholders (Operations, Engineering, Land, Revenue, Measurement) and external stakeholders (Midstream, Purchaser, Plant, Hauler) customers. May oversee the Senior Marketing Analyst and Marketing Analyst for designated assets to ensure successful daily and monthly product sales, accounting, and invoicing. The position is structured as Rep I or Rep II, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
Sale of oil, NGLs, and other production on a daily and long-term basis, within assigned trading limits
Negotiate terms of sale/purchase and transportation with Midstreams and Purchasers for oil, NGLs and other products
Draft, review, negotiate, and manage Midstream and sales contracts for crude oil, NGLs, and other products
Optimize NGL plant recoveries and netback through ethane election optimization and T&F negotiations
Work with Finance to ensure credit worthiness of purchasers
Identify new commercial opportunities by monitoring key trends and market conditions
Oversee crude and NGL nominations and invoicing as necessary
Provide monthly accrual pricing and volumes for internal processes
Coordinate with other departments internally to provide marketing projections and reconcile historical information
Pricing reporting and analysis
Assist other departments (Business Development, Commercial, Operations, Accounting, etc.) as required
Review monthly invoices to ensure billings match contractual agreements
Collaborate with internal departments on sales and purchase invoice reconciliation
Work closely with pipelines on various operational issues including any plant and pipeline outages, gas lift or compressor installation, new well connects, etc.
Collaborate with internal departments on development plans, acquisitions, and divestitures
Translate company goals into actionable tactics and projects, and lead projects associated with those goals
Analyze market conditions to identify opportunities to maximize value
Cultivate and sustain relationships with Midstreams and purchasers
Occasional travel as needed
Work non-traditional hours as needed
Position Requirements Required Qualifications
Experience in energy, commodities, or commercial roles
Foundational understanding of commodity marketing (crude, NGLs, and/or natural gas)
Pricing structures and market fundamentals
Demonstrated ability to analyze data and market conditions to support commercial decisions
Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, operational environment
Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across Operations, Accounting, Midstream partners, and external counterparties
Ability to take ownership of responsibilities and follow through on execution
Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience in crude oil, NGL, or natural gas marketing or commercial operations
Demonstrated commercial acumen, including ability to evaluate pricing, netbacks, and economic trade-offs
Identify and act on opportunities to improve realized margins
Experience negotiating or supporting negotiation of sales agreements, transportation or midstream contracts
Proven ability to build and maintain commercial relationships that drive outcomes, including improved terms, pricing, or operational solutions
Familiarity with midstream systems, pipelines, and plant operations
Nominations, scheduling coordination, and flow assurance
Experience with ETRM systems (e.g., FIS Aligne) and commercial data workflows
Strong systems and process mindset, with interest in improving workflows, leveraging data and automation, and applying emerging tools (including AI where applicable) to enhance performance
Experience supporting asset optimization efforts, including transportation decisions, NGL recovery/rejection considerations, and liquids handling or disposition strategies
Office Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Prolonged periods working at a desk in front of a computer
