Senior Content Partnerships Manager

Overview Disney’s Direct to Consumer’s Content Acquisition team is seeking a Senior Content Partnerships Manager to join the global licensing team. The role reports to the Director, DTC Content Partnerships and focuses on acquiring anime content from partners worldwide. You will participate in all stages of the content acquisition process, including tracking and evaluating opportunities, facilitating operations with partners, defining global licensing strategy through data analysis, and collaborating cross-functionally to grow the Anime content portfolio for DTC. The role requires a deep understanding of the fandom landscape — anime, gaming, comics, manga, and pop culture — and the ability to blend quantitative output with strong subjective judgment to drive change at a fast pace.

Responsibilities

Strategy Building: Support development of budget planning frameworks, programming strategies, and go-forward strategic initiatives related to the anime content portfolio

Deal Support & Financial Analysis: Lead drafting memos and leadership decks; conduct financial modeling in partnership with CP&A, perform WTP analysis and portfolio level efficiency/performance tracking, P&L impact analysis; manage budget planning and track all deal activity; opportunistic participation in deal-making may be a growth target for this role over time

Track and vet new content for quality, appeal, and fit with our programming strategies

Participate in and collaborate on formulating and communicating our TV content strategy internally and externally

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead collaboration with FP&A, CP&A, Content Strategy, Global/Regional counterparts and other internal teams to ensure Anime category nuances are accurately reflected

Operational Excellence: Build and manage comprehensive tracking systems for deals, programming, pitches, projects, and strategic initiatives; establish scalable, efficient workflows that benefit executive leaders across the organization

Leadership Communication: Translate complex data and category-specific context into clear, compelling narratives to support leadership decision-making

What To Bring

Bachelors Degree or related equivalent experience

7+ years of relevant work experience at a major media company or a top tier consulting firm/investment bank, including experience negotiating content licensing deals

Exceptional communication, organizational, and quantitative analysis skills

Understanding of multicultural content and how to serve diverse audiences

Ability to thrive in an evolving and fast-paced environment, prioritizing and handling multiple projects concurrently

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively – and know when to escalate issues

Preferred Qualifications

Cultural fluency and understanding of global & multicultural content, anime ecosystem knowledge

Strong familiarity with fandom audience behavior, trends, community dynamics, and competitive landscape

The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, California is $153,200.00 - $205,400.000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
