Landscape Architect/Planner/Site Designer Do you have a minimum of 3 years of working experience with landscape and site design projects? Do you have project management skills for coordinating with multi‑disciplinary design teams? Do you have a desire to integrate indigenous culture into the built environment? The ideal candidate is an early to mid–career landscape architecture professional who demonstrates strong initiative, and thrives in a collaborative environment. In this role, you will spearhead all aspects of design, guiding projects from initial concept development through to project closeout. This requires generating precise, production‑ready two‑dimensional and three‑dimensional technical drawings and documentation using industry‑standard CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, and SolidWorks).
The position involves managing project milestones and deliverables, ensuring that all work is completed on time, within scope, and within budget. Effective coordination with cross‑functional teams and external consultants is essential to ensure that design specifications and quality standards are consistently met. This role requires previous experience in architectural or engineering firms, the ability to independently manage multiple project deliverables with strong prioritization and time management, and exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration. A proactive approach to continuous improvement and problem‑solving is also essential.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience with landscape and site design projects.
Innovative thinker and thought leader.
Experienced project manager who can lead a client through the design process by interfacing with the client and leading the A/E design team, and contractor from the onset of a project through construction.
Ability to maintain design integrity as a project moves from concept design through construction documentation.
Ability to produce and guide the creative thought process for master planning, park design, site design and planting plan solutions.
Ability to communicate design intent by hand sketching early in the process and quickly converting sketches into a digital format (i.e. Photoshop/AutoCAD) to professionally convey the design intent.
Experience with AutoCAD, Revit and the Adobe Creative Suite.
Proficiency with producing construction documents for planting plans, playgrounds, courtyard, building entry plazas, and drainage features.
Familiarity with northern building design and construction in remote Alaska, preferred.
Experience or ambition to work on commercial, military, and park projects, preferred.
The desire to integrate indigenous culture into the built environment.
A positive, can‑do attitude and the desire to be part of a team.
A client‑focused ability to communicate effectively, provide a high level of attention to detail, and handle simultaneous deadlines.
Strong communication skills; combined hand drawing, written and verbal.
The ability to maintain flexibility within a large scope of responsibilities.
The ability to take direction and work independently while staying highly organized.
