Role Description Integral part of the Leadership Team that manages the day‑to‑day operations of the Wellness component of the community to ensure maximum levels of resident functional ability, safety, and well‑being.
Responsibilities
Perform continuous, ongoing supervision of all Wellness Department team members, including recruiting, retaining, training, disciplining, counseling, motivating, scheduling and evaluating; establish and build rapport among team members to facilitate teamwork.
Observe patients/residents under treatment to identify progress, side‑effects of medications, etc.; monitor and record vital signs; administer prescribed medications, injections, wound care, collect lab samples and other basic medical care tasks; provide assistance as necessary with activities of daily living.
Coordinate and implement regularly scheduled wellness meetings; ensure compliance of Wellness Department relative to federal, state, local and company regulations and policies.
Maintain liaison role by ensuring effective communication with other members of the team, residents, families and medical professionals.
Responsible for reporting on operation of Wellness Department to ensure continuity of care; keep department on budget within established guidelines and submit recommendations for budget completion, equipment and supplies; participate in multidisciplinary Quality Assurance Practices.
Requirements
Current NJ RN license in good standing (Required).
Previous experience in senior living.
BLS Certification (Preferred, Not Required).
Previous management experience in healthcare or service‑related setting (Preferred).
Familiarity with senior care health, safety, and sanitation standards and procedures.
Knowledge of all applicable governmental regulations.
Knowledge of the physiology and psychology of the older adult.
