What You’ll Do We’re looking for a friendly, organized, and proactive team member to manage customer interactions from first contact through order completion, returns, and resolution. This role combines customer service, sales, and operations support.

Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Order Management
Engage with customers and vendors via phone, email and via chat
Process orders and generate quotes
Handle payments, refunds, RMAs, exchanges, and billing questions
Maintain precise customer and order records in ERP systems
Sales and Customer Outreach
Analyze customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions
Attend local tradeshows and occasionally out-of-state shows
Visit current customer facilities and suggest product solutions for their lab
Upsell customers on complimentary products
Identify and reach out to potential new customers via cold calls and emails
Operations & Administrative Support
Order office and warehouse supplies
Assist with light shipping support when necessary
Perform various tasks as assigned, including prepping for trade shows, posting on social media, making reservations, maintaining shared spaces (end-of-day kitchen cleanup, organizing supply cabinets, etc.)
This role will expand as you demonstrate initiative and capability.
What We’re Looking For Required
Excellent computer and phone skills
1+ year office experience (customer service and sales)
Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects and tasks
Strong written communication skills (clear, professional email writing is essential)
High attention to detail and strong organizational habits
Comfortable learning business software quickly
Reliable, punctual daily attendance in the Novato office
Willingness to attend tradeshows and visit customer facilities
Comfort with cold-calling and sales-outreach emails
Professional, confident demeanor on the phone and in person
Preferred
ERP systems (NetSuite)
E-commerce platforms (BigCommerce)
Knowledge of sales or outbound calling techniques
Interest in science, sustainability, or laboratory products
Performance Expectations Successful candidates will:
Maintain high order accuracy
Respond to customer inquiries promptly and courteously
Nurture customers relationships and upsell existing customers
Take ownership of issues until resolved
Demonstrate initiative beyond assigned tasks
Physical & Work Requirements
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
Comfortable working in both office and light warehouse settings
Must commute daily to Novato, CA (on-site position only)

Compensation and Benefits
