
Residential Plumbing Designer

General Overview of Position
ARCXIS seeks Plumbing Designers and Engineers with broad experience in residential plumbing design and engineering. Responsibilities include producing Waste/Vent Designs, Water Piping, Isometrics, Gas Schematics, Fire Sprinklers, and Site Plumbing in AutoCAD, as well as collaborating across disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions.
Essential Functions of the Job
Produce Waste/Vent Design, Water Piping, Isometrics, Gas Schematic, Fire Sprinklers, and Site Plumbing in AutoCAD.
Engineer and design plumbing systems for single- and multi-family, low- and high-rise residential projects.
Generate detailed plumbing design drawings in AutoCAD for construction documentation, bidding, and construction.
Prepare construction documents in AutoCAD.
Collaborate with design staff and drafters to complete projects.
Competencies
AutoCAD
MS Excel
The ability to read blueprints
Compute dimensions from architectural plans
Detail oriented
Ability to work well with other engineers/designers
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Code Knowledge
Strong knowledge of NSPC (National Standard Plumbing Code)
ICC International Codes
Uniform building codes
Drive deadlines in dynamic and fast-moving environments.
Team players with exceptional interpersonal skills at all organizational levels.
Self-directed, with good initiative and ability to multitask.
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)
Requirements
BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent comparative experience.
Preferred 3+ years’ experience in Plumbing Design for residential building systems, code compliance, and construction.
Experience in producing Waste/Vent Design, Water Piping, Isometrics, Gas Schematic, Fire Sprinklers, and Site Plumbing.
Experience with mid‑rise multifamily buildings, mixed-use buildings, residential, and enclosed parking garages.
Work Schedule Monday – Friday day shift; additional hours, including weekend hours, may be required in accordance with changing business needs.
