Substation Designer

Sterling Engineering is looking for Substation Designers in Chicago, IL. This opportunity supports utility and infrastructure projects with a focus on design and drafting. Job Duties: Analyze client requests and interpret engineering sketches Create and modify drawings using AutoCAD Develop preliminary and final design layouts Calculate right-of-way, street dimensions, and angles Prepare as-built drawings upon project completion Utilize tools such as Adobe Acrobat, Google Earth, and MS Office Support additional drafting and design tasks as needed Qualifications: Associate’s degree (AAS) or equivalent experience AutoCAD Certification or relevant experience Up to 5+ years of related experience (flexible based on skill level) Experience with electrical utility design is a plus Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Google Earth Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin.
