Job Summary The Football Digital Media Coordinator helps strategize, shape, and execute the vision for all external communications regarding the Wisconsin Football brand as a member of the Creative Media Team. Under the supervision of the Director of Creative Media, the Football Digital Media Coordinator is responsible for assisting with daily posting, content creation, and delivery across all official Badger football social media channels. This position must be able to stay up to date with the latest social media trends, create original content, connect with fans, and strategically grow the Badger social platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Conceptualizes, plans, designs, and executes multimedia solutions for a specific work unit that may be used through various platforms in collaboration with stakeholders and other content creation staff
Contributes to the development of communication, event, and marketing materials to fit into the overall strategy of the work unit
Tracks and manages timelines and deliverables related to communication projects
Directs operational activities for multiple communication platforms and posts content within a work unit that may include websites, social media, written/illustrative communications, and online tools
Develops communication, event, and marketing strategies and materials to align with the overall work unit strategic initiative
Develops and facilitates trainings for staff and customers regarding technology options and best practices
Required Qualifications
Experience in sports social/digital media, marketing, communications, or relevant experience at the collegiate or professional level
Experience developing communications strategies and content to appeal to a wide-ranging audience including potential, current and former student-athletes, fans, donors, sponsors, etc.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to creatively tell stories about student-athletes, coaches and teams using various communication methods including social media, graphic design, video and written content
Experience with photography/videography (DSLR & camera phone)
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications to edit photo, video and graphic assets for use in social media
Proficient with social media platforms such as Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and others
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Work well independently and in teams
Flexible in accepting new responsibilities
Willingness and ability to work long hours, including evenings and weekends, and travel as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of NIL platforms, particularly Compass and Opendorse
Ability to proactively identify opportunities and quickly implement solutions
Ability to work with students, coaches and administrators in a broad range of situations
Knowledge of NCAA rules and guidelines and experience working in an atmosphere of NCAA compliance
Ability to develop and implement innovative approaches and solutions
Education Bachelor’s degree preferred
Compensation & Benefits The typical starting salary ranges from $52,000 - $55,000, but may be negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.
