Senior Public Health Nutritionist Supervisor

Salary:
$61,200 - $63,902 annually
Job Summary This is a supervisory role within the Polk/Hardee WIC Program. The incumbent provides leadership, management, and nutrition education services to WIC clients across the geographic area covered by the program. Responsibilities include staff supervision, program management, quality improvement, and outreach activities.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise WIC program operations at Lakeland Central site and subordinate staff.
Interview, hire, train, evaluate, and manage staff performance; maintain schedules, vacation, and timesheets.
Plan site schedules, conduct performance reviews, and recommend disciplinary actions.
Maintain accurate inventory, purchasing, and card transactions in compliance with guidelines.
Coordinate nutrition services with other health professionals; lead collaborative initiatives.
Lead quality improvement projects; update clinic policies based on findings.
Serve as Information Custodian for WIC/Nutrition Division data.
Support voter registration activities at clinic site.
Provide nutrition education, assessment, counseling, and program outreach to clients.
Develop and review nutrition care plans and client food prescriptions.
Deliver group nutrition education sessions and document required contacts.
Associate with emergency duty requirements and confidentiality policies as applicable.
Serve as lead trainer for WIC staff on nutrition training modules and required documentation.
Perform additional duties as requested by supervisor.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Expertise in nutrition/dietetics science and current practice.
Knowledge of growth, development, health or disease nutrition concepts.
Proficiency in nutritional assessment techniques.
Ability to analyze and interpret anthropometric, biochemical, clinical, and dietary data.
Strong communication, counseling, and educational planning skills.
Capacity to supervise staff, set priorities, and manage workload.
Understanding of applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LD/N) in Florida.
Bachelor's degree in Public Health Nutrition, Dietetics, Clinical Nutrition, Community Nutrition, or Nutritional Science.
Member of Chapter 468, Part X of the Dietitians & Nutritionists Board.
Valid Florida Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
Other Requirements
May be required to work emergency duty before, during, or beyond normal hours.
Must maintain confidentiality for records containing Social Security numbers.
