Scientific Contributor – Research Evaluation (Part-Time)
Role
A Bay Area–based research organization is seeking highly qualified domain experts to support the evaluation and development of advanced scientific research systems.
Responsibilities
Contributing to the development of evaluation and training datasets, including structured data annotation
Reviewing and annotating scientific literature (e.g., journal articles, preprints, reports)
Assessing research outputs for scientific rigor, accuracy, and quality
Providing domain-specific insight to guide system improvements and evaluation frameworks
Qualifications
We are specifically looking for individuals with deep expertise in:
Public Health
Astronomy
Ecology
This role is best suited for individuals who are:
Currently pursuing a PhD, have completed a PhD, or are in a Postdoctoral position
Actively engaged in research or applied work within their field
Experienced in working with scientific literature and research methodologies
Interested in contributing domain expertise to the evaluation of scientific outputs and datasets
Part-time contract (5+ hours/week)
Compensation typically ~$100+/hour, depending on experience
$500 signing bonus (matched to your first $500 of completed work)
