Overview
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that enable customers to access the innovative services they rely on.
You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply‑chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety, security, and operating capacity at the lowest possible cost.
As an ICT Colo Regional Engineer you will be part of a global engineering team of Mechanical, Electrical, and Control Engineers, designing critical communications pathways that connect hardware within AWS data centers.
In this role you will work directly with engineers and managers across the company to develop connectivity solutions for the physical layer, create pathway and cabling designs and specifications for construction and permitting, and collaborate with industry suppliers and manufacturers on product requirements and new technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure timely delivery of scalable fiber‑optic and copper plant designs and specifications.
Review and approve ICT pathway, cable, and equipment submittals.
Identify and respond to risks and high‑priority issues rapidly and effectively.
Support new technology and design activities that improve infrastructure quality, reduce cost, and shorten installation time.
Travel 20%+ to review projects and coordinate with onsite personnel and contractors at AWS data centers.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission‑critical facilities (e.g., data centers, power generation, oil and gas).
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities.
Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360, etc.).
5+ years of ICT design experience in mission‑critical environments.
2+ years of experience working with fiber‑optic components, cabling, and interconnect products, technologies, and standards.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer license.
Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.
Experience carrying design concepts from exploration through deployment or mass production.
Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.

The base salary range for this position is 116,800.00 – 160,000.00 USD annually (USA, TX, Dallas). Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
