Lead Integrated Automation Designer A Lead Integrated Automation Designer turns that vision into reality. They spearhead the end-to-end design of the building technology stack, from requirements discovery, coordinating with all disciplines, through construction and turnover.

Responsibilities

Discovery & Strategy

– Engage owners and stakeholders to translate operational goals into functional requirements, data strategies, and performance metrics.

System Architecture

– Lay out the software, network and data architecture that unifies BAS, power, lighting, security, AV, and other OT systems; ensuring secure and structured data is at the forefront of our designs.

Coordination & Documentation

– Work with internal and external stakeholders to integrate control sequences, points lists, and interface standards into construction documents.

Technology Selection

– Evaluate and select hardware and software platforms that meet scalability, cost, and resiliency targets.

Quality & Commissioning Support

– Oversee submittal reviews, commissioning testing and training to verify the integrated system delivers the intended outcomes.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of engineering (e.g., mechanical, electrical, fire protection, or architectural) and 11 years of relevant experience, or 13 years of experience without a degree required.

Professional Engineering (PE) license may be counted toward 1 year of direct experience.

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.

Advanced knowledge and proficiency in engineering design, A&E industry, codes, design guides, and standards relating to a broad range of practices, projects, and/or program types.

Knowledge of earned value, contracts, and construction processes and methods.

Proficiency in Revit and Bluebeam Revu.

High technical aptitude: ability to learn, understand, and utilize various systems and processes; comfortable training others.

Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with designers at all levels concisely.

Effective critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.

Team oriented and willing to function in a highly collaborative environment, lead less experienced designers, and work independently as needed.

Adaptable to changing work environments, priorities, and organizational needs.

Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

Ability to give and receive constructive feedback and adjust to coaching.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and engineering design software applicable to your discipline or focus.

Must be self‑starter, proactive, and willing to teach, manage, and/or help others as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of FE exam, LEED, and/or WELL accreditation highly preferred.
