Overview
Jack Henry is seeking an experienced Senior SQL Server Database Administrator with a strong background in managing, securing, and optimizing enterprise SQL Server environments. The role requires performance tuning, high availability and disaster recovery solutions, backup and recovery strategies, and capacity planning. The DBA will support mission-critical systems, ensure data integrity, and collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable, scalable database solutions. This is a remote position and candidates must live within approximately a 70-mile radius of our office locations in Allen, TX; Lenexa, KS; Springfield, MO; or Monett, MO; Louisville, KY; Charlotte, NC. Salary range: $97,800 - $140,650 and will be determined based on location and experience level. Some positions may require an onsite interview or in-person onboarding to verify identity. What you’ll be responsible for
Documents everything philosophy. Provide 24/7 support, alternating weekly schedule. Mentor less experienced DBA peers. Create and maintain standards and guidelines for database administrative tasks. Follow the PDLC. Designs and implements backup and disaster recovery processes and procedures. Determine how tables relate to each other and how fields interact within the tables for a relational model. Proactive mentality. May perform other job duties as assigned. What you’ll need to have
Minimum 6 years of experience with SQL database administration. Experience with writing and tuning T-SQL. Experience with or knowledge of code versioning tool Git. Experience with writing and understanding PowerShell. U.S. Citizenship and ability to clear a federal background check. 24/7 on-call rotation every 3 weeks. Nice to have
Knowledge of payment systems and solutions. Experience with cloud technologies, specifically Azure and GCP. Experience with Ola Hallengren SQL Server Maintenance Solutions. Ability to perform query optimization, index tuning and design databases to meet organizational goals. Preferred Certifications: MCDBA, MCA with SQL Server, and/or MCTS with SQL Server.
