Junior Architectural Designer

Job Description AECOM is actively seeking a Junior Architectural Designer (Architecture Designer II) to join our Houston Team. The successful candidate will understand the value of leveraging the design platform that AECOM offers, which is access and collaboration with industry leading designers and technical experts in nearly every design and engineering field. The current and near‑term projects that this position would support will be transformational to the communities in which they exist. Internally, this position will provide the opportunity to serve an integral part of a planning and design practice that includes planners, landscape architects, architects, interior designers, engineers, and business development professionals. The position will require the ability to support design visions, concepts, and overall design process for complex multi‑layered design problems and solutions.

Responsibilities

Perform basic architectural/engineering calculations.

Prepare specifications, reports and related data tables.

Maintain liaison with design and drafting groups.

Prepare, review, and approve drawings as required.

Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, perform technical assignments of moderate complexity within approved schedules and budgets.

Coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.

Assist in training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor of Architecture degree plus 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Architecture.

5 years of experience as an Architect or Architectural Designer on a variety of building types.

Autodesk Revit proficiency.

Ability to become a licensed architect in the future.

Experience with Adobe Suite, Autodesk Revit, Enscape, Rhino and SketchUp.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).

This position will not offer sponsorship now or in the future.

Compensation Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $65000 to $95000.
