Robert Young Architects
Archinect, New York, NY, United States
Overview
Robert Young Architects is a design-forward residential practice based in West Chelsea, known for architecturally ambitious, meticulously crafted work — ground-up houses, apartments, and interiors for clients who care deeply about what gets built. Our projects are primarily in the tri-state area, with a growing national presence. We're a small, serious office where the work gets noticed and the people who do it are known by name.
Responsibilities
Own a project — not just run it, bringing rigor and genuine design sensibility in equal measure.
Be comfortable in client meetings as you are in detail drawing work; understand that managing a project well is a form of design thinking.
Communicate clearly and maintain client relationships with confidence.
Mentor junior staff and take that role seriously.
Qualifications
8–10+ years of post-graduate experience in a design-focused practice, with recent work in private residential projects at small to medium-sized firms.
Professional degree in architecture from a US-accredited school. Licensed or on a clear path to licensure.
Demonstrated experience managing projects, consultants, clients, and budgets independently. Construction Administration experience required.
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino or SketchUp, Enscape, and Adobe Suite. Monograph, Asana, or Smartsheet experience a plus.
Must reside in the NYC metro area with valid US work authorization and fluent English.
What We Offer Work that matters, on projects that get built and get noticed. A principal who is actively building toward a partnership model and looking for people who want to grow into that. Competitive compensation commensurate with experience, plus a full benefits package.
