About the Opportunity:

The Washington County Sheriffs Office- Jail Division is looking for a Senior Administrative Specialist to join our Administration Team! This position provides high-level administrative support to the Jail Command leadership team and members within the Jail Division. The work will span a wide variety of responsibilities, including developing and maintaining communication such as meeting agendas and minutes, drafting documents, supporting calendar management and meeting scheduling, preparing reports, forms, and presentations, and providing overall administrative support.

About the Department/Division:

The Washington County Sheriffs Office (WCSO) is a full-service law enforcement agency located in Hillsboro, Oregon, serving the residents of the countys urban and rural areas. WCSO enhances public safety by fostering professionalism, compassion, and trust within its team and the communities it serves. WCSO is the primary first responder for unincorporated residents, offering services from routine patrol and crime investigation to specialized teams. The WCSO also operates the countys only jail and provides services to cities within the county on a contract basis.

Principles of supervision and training.

Skills to:

Provide timely, effective, and efficient customer service to the general public, clients, and other employees.

Interact patiently with individuals making inquiries regarding various County programs and services who have little or no experience or knowledge of the services provided.

Work independently in the absence of supervision.

Ability to:

Interpret and apply applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules and regulations, and policies.

Take and transcribe dictation at a speed necessary for successful job performance.

Effectively administer a variety of duties with competing priorities.

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma or equivalent. AND

Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience providing administrative or clerical support.

Background Check: The selected finalist(s) for this position must be able to pass a thorough background investigation conducted by theSheriffsOffice.The background Investigation for this position typically take 6-8 weeks to complete so you will want to plan accordingly.
