Position Summary Falcon is looking for a Junior Engineer/CAD Drafter to join our team. The Junior Engineer / CAD Drafter supports the engineering and manufacturing teams by creating detailed technical drawings, preparing production documentation, and assisting in the development of efficient manufacturing processes. This role requires strong attention to detail, technical aptitude, and the ability to collaborate cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced production environment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Interpret customer drawings, CAD files, and specifications to prepare projects for manufacturing
Create detailed part and assembly drawings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
Develop flat patterns, detailed drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), fixtures, and CNC/laser programs
Specify dimensions, tolerances, materials, and manufacturing procedures for new and existing products
Collaborate with production, quality, and purchasing teams to determine optimal manufacturing methods
Identify production issues and recommend practical engineering solutions
Provide technical support to manufacturing personnel and equipment operations
Maintain accurate documentation and revision control of drawings and project files
Ensure all work meets quality standards, customer requirements, and internal specifications
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Requirements
Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Minimum of 1 year of experience creating mechanical drawings in a manufacturing environment
Proficiency in CAD software, including SolidWorks and AutoCAD
Ability to read, interpret, and revise blueprints and technical drawings
Strong mathematical and analytical skills with high attention to detail
Effective problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot production challenges
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast‑paced, evolving environment
Bonus Point
Experience with additional CAD/CAM or mechanical design software (i.e. TruTops, SMP/IS systems)
Experience in sheet metal or metal fabrication environments
Familiarity with 3D modeling and design
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use hands for extended periods
Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally
Ability to work in both office and manufacturing floor environments, which may include exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when on the production floor
Schedule
Standard Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7am – 4pm
Additional hours may be required based on business and operational needs
