Strategic Growth Manager

Compass Real Estate - Peninsula, Chicago, IL, United States

Overview

At Compass, our mission is to help everyone find their place in the world. Founded in 2012, we’re revolutionizing the real estate industry with our end-to-end platform that empowers residential real estate agents to deliver exceptional service to seller and buyer clients. Role and Location

This is a fully onsite role and will report into one of our 18 offices located in Chicagoland. You will spend a significant portion of your time meeting clients and prospects in the field. Administrative and team collaboration tasks will take place at the office, with your primary focus on building relationships and driving revenue through in-person interactions. Responsibilities

Drive net-new revenue as part of the Strategic Growth team. Bring top-producing agents to Compass by effectively selling the Compass value proposition (technology, marketing, culture and growth). Engage decision-makers and work directly with agents who are independent contractors, helping them see value and support at Compass. Meet with agents to understand their business needs and articulate how Compass can benefit their clients and grow their practice. Metrics

This is a quota-carrying role. Quota is measured by the amount of Gross Commission Income (GCI) you bring to Compass. Deal sizes range from approximately $200k to $3M+, with an average time to close around 30 days. Quota can be met by bringing on multiple individual agents or large agent teams. Quota is based on the prior 12 months’ performance of the agent or team, not contingent on future production at Compass. You will help agents understand why their business and clients will benefit by moving to Compass. Nuances

Sales involve direct interactions with decision-makers; agents are effectively the CEOs of their own businesses, requiring empathy, listening, agility and a continued focus to close deals. Decoupling an agent from their prior brokerage often requires patience and strong communication to address identity tied to a brand. The role combines high IQ and EQ in a diverse team with backgrounds in investment banking, management consulting, law and enterprise sales. Our SGM team has momentum, with conservative estimates showing revenue generation per head higher than many top tech firms. Qualifications
