Project Type : Freelance / Contract Compensation : $1,600 Total • Phase 1 (Deliverables 1-3): $650 • Phase 2 (Deliverables 4-6): $950 Payment Timeline : Each phase paid upon agreed completion Location : Remote (US‑based preferred; familiarity with Portland, ME vibe a plus) Timeline : April 5 – April 30, with potential for ongoing work About Social Compass Social Compass is a new paid membership social club for adults 21+ designed to bring people together through fun, intentional, and curiosity‑driven experiences that foster belonging, safety, and camaraderie. We serve the greater Portland, Maine area and surrounding communities. We are not a dating or traditional networking platform – our focus is on genuine connection through shared experiences. We host 15 to 30 events each month, catering to a variety of interests including outdoor recreation (hikes, water sports, snow sports, lawn games), indoor recreation (pickleball, trivia, board games, crafting), arts and entertainment (music, theater, comedy), history and culture (museum tours, lectures, dinners), sporting events (baseball, hockey, football, roller derby), travel, and more. Mission Statement : To deliver a high‑touch, premium social club experience built on curiosity, adventurousness, inclusivity, and safety. We create thoughtfully curated events that help people step outside their usual circles, try new experiences, and build meaningful connections in a way that feels exciting, yet approachable. Core Values : Fun, Intentionality, Curiosity, Belonging & Safety, Camaraderie Project Overview We are seeking a graphic designer to create cohesive, engaging marketing materials for: Social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.) Email campaigns Website assets Designs should: Balance clarity and conversion (easy to understand, strong calls to action) with brand storytelling (emotion, connection, and experience) Use free stock photography (people socializing—authentic, candid moments that reflect the types of events listed above and a Portland/Maine aesthetic).
