Surety Account Manager This employee should display a strong entrepreneurial spirit, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Have a passion for working with people, enjoy developing and managing customer relationships, can properly prioritize project management and conveys strong analytical skills. As a Surety Account Manager you will utilize customer service and marketing skills to communicate with our business partners and vendor relationships, via bond requests and/or general day-to-day communications with some of the best contractors and underwriters in the marketplace. We require someone who possess the ability to interpret the information presented in bond requests and can accurately transcribe and process bonds in a timely manner, while prioritizing accordingly.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Primary client contact for day to day bonding questions
Develop proficiency with internal systems utilized by American Global (Erlon & Applied Epic)
Follow the policies and practices of American Global
Account Manager should ensure they are on Powers of Attorney (POA's) for all carriers where they do business
Learn all aspects of surety business along with the proper underwriting requirements
Builds and promotes strong relationships with business partners, carriers and all stakeholders vested in the process
Input data into internal software or spreadsheets and as needed to review with other associates
Update information as required to keep files current and respond to underwriter's request on assigned accounts
Communicates with clients and underwriters through the request process, including the provision of proper underwriting materials
Process all new bond requests in a timely manner
Adherence to surety's granted Line of Authority
Keep customers informed of status of any request
Ability to clearly explain problems/concerns to co-workers, supervisors and/or agency principals and suggest/recommend solutions
Participate in all company meetings
Review issued bonds, endorsements or riders for accuracy
Oversee Account Associate work for quality checking and assist in training of Account Associates where needed
Provide backup for other team members in their absence
Process all invoices for new and renewal bonds in accordance with current procedures
Responds to accounting issues with appropriate adjustments/corrections within prescribed timelines
Copy, scan and file documents for all assigned accounts
Undertake various duties as assigned
Responsible for billing accurately and timely
Responsible for following with clients on invoice collections (receivables) and working with accounting to keep up to date on client billings
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).
A minimum of five years of industry experience
Proficiency with Applied Epic, Erlon, and any related agency management system
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Excellent analytical, multi-tasking and organizational skills; Strong attention to detail.
Ability to solve problems and think independently and as part of a team.
Notary License required or obtain within first year of employment
Valid Driver's license and reliable transportation required.
Ability to travel as required.
Education & Licensing Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred or related work experience
Home State P&C Insurance License
