Marketing and Communications Intern (Summer 2026)

As a Marketing & Communications Intern you will work alongside the Telligen corporate marketing team to support various internal and external projects and initiatives. This may include graphic design, digital marketing strategy and execution, website organization and maintenance, writing and marketing measurement. This opportunity is ideal for someone who is seeking meaningful, hands‑on experience in the marketing profession. Location: Onsite at our West Des Moines, IA office. Schedule: 40 hours per week available during the summer, with potential to extend into the fall working a reduced schedule. Responsibilities Graphic Design Creates and/or edits graphic design content for various mediums including websites, PowerPoint presentations, emails, and various social media activities. Designs promotional materials such as brochures, newsletters, collateral materials, and white papers. Ensures all graphic designs comply with company, customer, and regulatory standards by following editorial standards for communication content. Utilizes AI‑powered optimization tools to improve content quality and engagement. Website Design and Development Creates, customizes, and maintains responsive, visually appealing websites focusing on user experience (UX), layout, and aesthetics. Utilizes theme builders, CSS, and plugins to translate client requirements into functional, mobile‑first websites. Designs wireframes, conducts UX research, manages content, and ensures optimal website performance. Demonstrates knowledge of the WordPress platform, including CMS management and theme customization. Manages and updates WordPress sites to ensure they are current, functional, and aligned with client needs. Supports website SEM strategy, including site updates, recommendations, and maintenance. Provides insights and improvement of SEM, PPC, keywords search and analytics (Google Data Studio, Google Analytics, LeadFeeder). Writes content for company blog, intranet site, or website using AP style. Monitors and manages the company's social media platforms, adjusting outreach tactics as needed. Assists the Marketing & Communications team with brainstorming, creating and implementing integrated digital marketing campaigns. May support paid search campaigns using Google Search Console and Google Tag Manager. Contributes to monthly performance analytics reports for website and marketing tactics. Required and Preferred Skills and Experience Currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing a degree in business, marketing, public relations, communications or another related field. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to set priorities and handle multiple projects efficiently to meet deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to write social media content, blog articles and website content. Must possess an understanding of AP style for written communications. Ideal candidates will have knowledge of some or most of the following marketing/communications platforms and tools: Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat) Social media platforms (LinkedIn, X, Facebook) Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) Canva Wordpress (and basic HTML and CSS) Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) Zoom Video and audio production, editing and exporting skills using DSLR cameras and Adobe Premiere Pro Positions working on specific government contracts may require U.S. Citizenship.
