Assistant Automotive Service Writer

Our service department is growing, and we're looking for a dedicated Assistant Automotive Service Writer to support our Service Advisors and deliver a first-class ownership experience to our customers. The Assistant Automotive Service Writer plays a key support role within the service department, assisting Service Advisors with customer interactions, documentation, and workflow coordination. This position is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in automotive service within a dealership environment. Responsibilities include: Greet Subaru customers and assist with service check-in and vehicle information Support Service Advisors with repair orders, estimates, and service documentation Communicate service updates, completion times, and basic maintenance recommendations Coordinate with technicians to ensure accurate repair descriptions and timely workflow Answer incoming service calls and help schedule appointments Maintain detailed and accurate customer and vehicle records Assist with warranty documentation and recalls as needed Help maintain a clean, organized, and customer-friendly service drive Promote Subaru maintenance standards and customer satisfaction Qualifications include: Previous automotive service, dealership, or customer service experience preferred but not required Basic understanding of automotive maintenance and repair terminology preferred but not required Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced dealership environment Proficiency with computers and dealership service software (or ability to learn) Professional appearance and positive, team-oriented attitude What We Offer: Competitive compensation with growth potential Ongoing training and support in a Subaru dealership environment Opportunities for advancement to Service Writer / Service Advisor roles Stable schedule and modern service facility Supportive management and collaborative team culture Employee discounts on service and vehicle purchases
