About the Role The Engagement & Social Media Intern supports the organization’s marketing and communications efforts through digital content creation, social media management, and on‑site support at installations and events. This role blends creative work with hands-on field activity, giving the intern experience in brand storytelling, audience engagement, and real‑world content production.
Responsibilities Create and schedule content for social media platforms, newsletters, and websites to support brand visibility and engagement. Capture photos and videos of installation crews, project progress, and completed work for use in marketing materials. Attend events, installations, and community activities to gather content, assist with setup, and support on‑site marketing needs. Conduct market research on competitors, customer preferences, and industry trends to inform marketing strategies. Assist in developing marketing materials such as graphics, presentations, blog posts, and promotional copy. Track and report on social media and campaign performance using analytics tools. Maintain organized content libraries, marketing databases, and digital assets. Collaborate with team members to support branding, messaging, and outreach initiatives. Provide general administrative support for marketing projects and events.
Qualifications Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Media Studies, or a related field. Coursework or personal projects involving marketing, writing, photography, or digital media. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to installation sites and event locations. Comfort interacting with staff, customers, and the public while capturing content.
Required Skills Strong written and verbal communication skills. Comfort with social media platforms and basic content creation tools. Ability to capture photos and videos with a phone or camera in field environments. Interest in digital marketing, branding, and visual storytelling. Basic understanding of marketing concepts such as audience targeting or campaign planning. Creativity, attention to detail, and willingness to learn new tools and techniques. Ability to work independently at job sites or events when needed.
Preferred Skills Hands-on experience with real marketing campaigns, content creation, and field-based storytelling. Exposure to analytics, branding, and digital communication strategies. Opportunities to contribute creative ideas and see them implemented across platforms. Mentorship from marketing and communications professionals. A supportive environment for developing practical marketing and content production skills.
