Underwriting Opportunity With AXA XL
AXA XL provides customized risk management programs for major businesses and institutions operating in the U.S. Underwriters have deep expertise and broad authority for quick execution. Your focus is to establish proven relationships internally and externally and to act as the critical interface between our brokers, clients and the company. You are expected to continuously contribute towards improving our current working and underwriting practices. Your essential responsibilities include producing, underwriting, managing and servicing a profitable book of new and renewal business per AXA XL underwriting guidelines. Underwriter conducts risk review and analysis. Also, determines terms & conditions and appropriate pricing in accordance with granted authority and AXA XL underwriting guidelines. Underwriter effectively negotiates and secures policy terms that align with AXA XL directives. Underwriter cultivates key broker relationships in the region to maintain a steady stream of business within our underwriting appetite. Underwriter cultivates effective business relationship with accounts, providing risk stewardship including initial setup of service commitments and ongoing consultation. Completes all required steps on account setup, documentation, and account management. Partners with internal service providers to build long-term relationships between customers/brokers and AXA XL, managing expectations of all parties. Underwriter cross-markets with other AXA XL lines; meets with brokers and insureds as required. Develop and manage underwriting strategies for both renewals and targets within his/her portfolio of accounts, including knowledge of the current penetration by product, cross marketing penetration and specific plans to increase company share. You will report to the Head of Central USRM. We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills: Moderate to extensive underwriting large risk management accounts with focus on high deductible, self-insured retentions, captives, group captives, bundled and unbundled claims. Knowledge of workers compensation, general liability and automobile lines of business. Ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers and producers. You should possess robust analytical and problem-solving skills as well as robust sales and marketing abilities. Robust organizational, time-management and multi-tasking skills. Outstanding communication: excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration and presentation skills. Strategic thinking: visualize what doesn't exist and know how to get there. Can invent, design and build. Mental agility: innovative thinker, willing to turn ideas on their head. Bright and can handle highly complex situations.
