Director of Youth Ministries (Part-Time)

Saint Luke's Presbyterian Church, Atlanta, GA, United States

Are you a relational leader who believes that teenagers are not just the "future" of the church, but a vital part of it at this very moment?

Saint Luke’s Presbyterian Church is looking for a part-time

Director of Youth Ministries

to champion the faith, leadership, and lives of our students (grades 6–12). This is not just a role about logistics; it is about walking alongside young people as they navigate their formative years, helping them find a sense of belonging, purpose, and joy in our faith community.

The Role As the Director, you will be the visionary heart of our youth program. You will lead a collaborative team—including a Youth Council, dedicated adult volunteers, and a Seminary Intern—to create a space where students feel seen, known, and loved.

Reporting directly to the Senior Pastor, you will have the creative freedom to bring your heart and vision to a supportive, inclusive community that cherishes its young people.

What You Will Do

Build Community: Cultivate an engaging program for grades 6–12 rooted in authentic relationships and spiritual growth.

Mentor & Empower: Equip 8th graders through our Confirmation Program and empower student leaders to take ownership of their ministry.

Provide Presence: Offer pastoral care and a listening ear to students and their families.

Lead the Adventure: Organize and lead high-impact experiences, from local mission work to retreats at Montreat Youth Conference (NC) and Mountain T.O.P. (TN).

Mobilize Volunteers: Recruit and support a team of adults who are just as passionate about student ministry as you are.

Bridge the Gap: Help our 4th and 5th graders transition into youth ministry with confidence and excitement.

Who You Will Be

A Relational Leader: You connect naturally with teenagers and young adults.

A Creative Collaborator: You enjoy working with a staff team and volunteers to turn big ideas into reality.

Spiritually Mature: You have a deep and thoughtful faith and a commitment to your own growth and self-care.

Adaptive & Organized: You can navigate a changing calendar with wisdom and manage your time effectively.

Tech‑Savvy: You are comfortable using digital tools to communicate and keep the community connected.

The Details

Schedule: Part‑time in‑person (20‑25 hours per week).

Investment: $30,000–$40,000 annually (dependent on experience).

Perks: Negotiable benefits and extra compensation for overnights, camps, and mission trips.
