
Continuous Improvement Intern

Job Summary
SPX Technologies is seeking a Continuous Improvement Intern who will play a key role in enhancing manufacturing processes through the application of Lean methodologies. The intern will focus on analyzing current workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing improvements to boost productivity. This role offers hands‑on experience on the plant floor and exposure to cross‑functional collaboration within the manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct time studies for assembly lines and other manufacturing processes.
Develop standardized work procedures for assembly lines.
Identify waste within manufacturing processes and contribute to problem‑solving initiatives.
Actively participate in structured Kaizen events.
Learn and apply Lean tools and concepts effectively.
Build communication skills to engage with team members across various organizational levels.
Develop leadership abilities by managing projects and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
Gain experience in overseeing cross‑functional projects from initiation to completion.
Increase assembly productivity by eliminating waste and implementing standardized work procedures.
Required Qualifications
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Proficiency in project management and multitasking.
Strong problem‑solving capabilities and attention to detail.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience with project management, Lean manufacturing, and process management.
Education & Certifications
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree with a focus in Engineering.
70% of the time will be spent on the plant floor, with additional time allocated to computer‑based work.
