
Compliance Specialist

LHH is seeking a Compliance Specialist to support and execute day-to-day regulatory and professional compliance activities for a rapidly growing, multi-entity organization operating across multiple states. This role is hands‑on and execution‑focused, responsible for maintaining licensing, monitoring regulatory requirements, supporting post‑acquisition integration, and serving as a key compliance resource to internal teams.

Key Responsibilities
Monitor and administer federal, state, and local tax compliance requirements, including income, franchise, sales/use, payroll, and other entity‑level taxes
Manage tax registrations, renewals, and filings across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Maintain detailed tax compliance calendars, trackers, and documentation for all entities
Coordinate collection of data required for tax filings in partnership with accounting, payroll, and finance teams
Support multi‑state compliance related to entity expansions, nexus changes, and new registrations
Assist with post‑acquisition tax compliance integration, including entity setup, account alignment, and filing transitions
Track regulatory changes and assess potential impact to tax compliance obligationsn Serve as a point of contact for tax notices, correspondence, and inquiries from taxing authorities
Partner with external tax advisors to support filings, audits, and compliance reviews
Identify compliance risks or gaps and support remediation efforts
Qualifications
4+ years of experience in tax compliance, regulatory compliance, or related accounting/tax roles
Experience supporting multi‑entity and multi‑state organizations strongly preferred
Strong ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple compliance priorities
Excellent organizational, research, and communication skills
Exposure to M&A or post‑acquisition integration environments preferred
Detail‑oriented, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, evolving organization
