Seeking a motivated Sales Agronomist to establish professional customer relationships under the direction of the VP of Agronomy, focusing on business growth and delivering agronomy solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Serve as an advisor to product management, mentoring the introduction of new products to the sales organization and Agronomy Sales Associates
Perform sales calls on current and prospective customers, maintaining 5,000 acres and 10% growth over best 2 of the last 3 years
Consult with growers in the field on product quality/standards and applications needed in their operation
Demonstrate sound agronomic skills
Manage a book of business in a set territory
Interpret soil tests and nutrient maps
Build fertility recommendations based upon available data
Conduct weed, insect, and plant disease identification
Build pesticide recommendations based upon plant growth stage, pest pressure, etc.
Ensure thorough knowledge of seed genetics and ability to recommend best available hybrids
Develop action plans for increasing targeted customers’ business
Present products, services, and added value to customers as designed by AgState
Qualifications
3+ years related experience
Bachelor’s degree is a plus but not required
Valid IA motor license
Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) or working toward CCA accreditation
