Job Title: Superintendent – Commercial Construction
We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee the day-to-day field operations of commercial construction projects. This role is responsible for managing jobsite execution from mobilization through closeout, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, on budget, and consistent with quality standards and client expectations. The Superintendent serves as the primary on-site leader, coordinating subcontractors, field staff, and internal partners while maintaining a strong focus on safety, productivity, and constructability.
Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day field operations of commercial construction projects.
Manage jobsite execution from mobilization through closeout.
Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, on budget, and consistent with quality standards and client expectations.
Serve as the primary on-site leader.
Coordinate subcontractors, field staff, and internal partners.
Maintain a strong focus on safety, productivity, and constructability.
Essential Skills
At least 5-7 years of experience in construction management, preferably in general contracting.
Experience with Ground Up projects.
Proficient in construction supervision and subcontractor management.
Strong focus on safety practices.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working on Higher Education projects.
Previous experience leading a job-site team preferred.
Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
Work Environment This position requires working on-site in Virginia, providing an opportunity to work with one of the largest contractors in the region.
Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Charlottesville, VA.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $120,000.00 - $135,000.00/yr. We offer our full-time employees a competitive benefits package including, but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, and life insurances, short-term and long-term disability, 401(k) employer match, and paid time off.
