
Institutional Portfolio Analyst

What is the opportunity
As an Institutional Portfolio Analyst at RBC Global Asset Management, U.S., you are the key provider of accurate investment portfolio data to RBC GAM‑US. Your primary responsibilities encompass three general areas: communication of accurate data to multiple internal groups, accurate investment portfolio reconciliation, and the billing of our institutional clients.
What will you do
Accurately reconcile investment portfolios – audit accounting data for accuracy and reasonableness, identify and resolve holdings and transactional discrepancies in a timely manner using multiple data sources, track outstanding issues and ensure resolution.
Communicate accurate data to the Investment Management and Client Service teams – share critical portfolio information, ensure flow of time‑sensitive information, and follow through on actionable items. Organize data from multiple sources for efficient interpretation by end‑user teams. Notify Investment Teams of portfolio cash balances and pending cash needs.
Set up, generate, and review client invoices for the firm’s management fees using the Revport billing system.
Contribute to cross‑departmental initiatives and work groups; participate in operational projects focusing on automation, efficiency, and scalability of Institutional Portfolio Operations services.
What do you need to succeed Must‑have
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
1–2 years of financial services industry experience.
Working knowledge of fixed income and equity securities.
Strong attention to detail.
Self‑starter who is client‑services and solutions oriented; able to work effectively both individually and as part of a team.
Strong problem‑solving and strategic thinking skills; capable of meeting tight timelines under high‑pressure situations, with the ability to prioritize and multi‑task.
Excellent time‑management skills and ability to independently manage competing priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, basic formulas).
Nice‑to‑have
2–3 years of Fund Accounting and/or portfolio analysis experience in the asset management industry.
Working knowledge of various technology platforms: Eagle Investment Systems, Simcorp Dimension, Bloomberg Terminal, Charles River Investment Management Solutions, Electra Reconciliation, TLM Reconciliation, Revport.

Compensation The expected salary range for this position is $55,000–$95,000, depending on experience, skills, registration status, market conditions, and business needs. You may also earn additional discretionary variable compensation to increase total compensation if the business meets its performance targets and you meet individual goals.
