Overview
Product Training Specialist
supports the planning, designing, developing, and delivery of comprehensive educational materials and workshops on Hunter products to achieve a higher level of proficiency in the use, application, and sales of products. Delivers technical product workshops at Hunter Headquarters and off-site locations in the relevant customer’s language if needed.
Responsibilities
Supports planning, designing, developing, and documenting in-person training courses complete with reference material and standardized tests with measurable goals, objectives, and accomplishments.
Delivers training courses and complex information to a variety of customer groups, using multiple instructional techniques and methods, based on the knowledge and skill levels of the participants. This may include classroom facilitation, video-based instruction, and video and teleconferencing.
Applies instructional design and adult learning theories to the development of courses.
Supports identifying training needs through collaborating with Sales and Marketing teams, as well as through customer feedback.
Selects and develops training aids, including training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference materials.
Manages the translation of new and existing Hunter training materials, videos, and online training modules into the relevant language to ensure consistent messaging across Hunter Training deliverables.
Coordinates and performs the administrative functions required to deliver and document training programs, while actively managing and maintaining training products and training supplies to ensure readiness and availability for all events.
Supports reviewing the training programs and recommends changes in instructional objectives and methods.
Works within the relevant industry to lend assistance for training programs. Participates in company sales meetings and customer engagement activities.
Develops and maintains professional relationships with customers, industry partners, and green industry organizations.
Generates effective classes, systems, and materials covering relevant products, as well as troubleshooting tips. Explains and sells the features and benefits of relevant products.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and relevant work experience. Irrigation and/or landscape lighting industry certifications are preferred.
2+ years of experience in a technical service position within the irrigation industry required.

Proficiency in MS Office 365 Suite.
Excellent detail-orientation, analytical and organizational skills. Ability to work with a high degree of independence to plan, organize, and implement multiple projects within time constraints to meet deadlines.
Effective interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts with all members of the Sales and Marketing teams, as well as various business partners in the industries we serve.
Ability to be flexible and to adapt to changing organizational needs with the ability to deliver results in a dynamic environment.
Valid driver’s license and driving record sufficient to meet requirement to be insured.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 35% during peak season. Must have or be able to obtain a valid passport.
Knowledge of using and demonstrating testing equipment such as multimeters, clamp meters, and wire locators.
